Cross Country Weekly Update #13
This Saturday we will practice at 6am. We will end practice around 7am. We have 8 boys running in the Nike South Regional Championship meet. They will run at either 8am or 8:30am depending on which race we are placed in. The meet is Saturday, November 23rd at Bear Branch Park in The Woodlands. This is the same park as the Friday Night Lights meet we participated in at the end of
August.
Fall Sports Awards Banquet December 15th
Mark your calendars for the Fall Sports Athletic Banquet on Sunday, December 15th at 5:30pm. This will be a very nice event with a buffet served at 5:30 (no pizza) and then we will break out into our cross country end of season awards ceremony. The boys are encouraged to wear a suit but a shirt and tie will work. Absolutely no jeans or shorts, dress pants are expected. You should get an invitation in the mail, please RSVP. Athletes are free and parents are $20. All athletes are expected to be in attendance.
We have a few boys with some nagging pains we are trying to get rid of. Please make sure the boys are getting plenty of sleep (I know it’s challenging with the homework they have) and that they are still eating well. We have cut back on training for many and will give them a break from practice after the Nike meet. I am working on the Winter Break practice plan for track. We will not meet every day but we will meet for the more intense
workouts.
Have a great week…
